DIY Tesla Coil (Up to 30,000V) | High Voltage Plasma at 20V DC
In this video, I build a simple Tesla coil that produces high voltage plasma using only a 20V DC power supply. This compact DIY project can generate visible plasma discharge and even ignite a match.
Step-by-step build includes:
Secondary coil (~1200 turns, 0.2 mm wire)
Primary coil (2 turns, 2.5 mm wire)
8N60 MOSFET
SF28 flyback diode
10K resistor (gate protection)
47µF 50V capacitor (power stabilization)
12V zener diode (gate protection)
5K potentiometer (tuning control)
The coil is wound on a cardboard tube (paper towel roll), and the topload is wrapped with aluminum foil.
The potentiometer is used for tuning. Start from the middle position and adjust for the best performance.
⚠️ Warning: High voltage—do not touch while operating.
